Pain in Heart Spiritual Meaning: 7 Causes and Signs

Pain in Heart Spiritual Meaning: 7 Meanings & More

Today I will talk about the spiritual meaning of heart pain and some spiritual causes of this terrible pain.

I know that it’s absolutely terrifying to experience any kind of pain, and especially pain in the heart, but provided there’s nothing medically wrong with you, that pain might come with a spiritual meaning or message attached.

Let’s delve into the complexities of a pain in the heart, discover its purpose, and ultimately find healing on both a spiritual and physical level

What is the Spiritual Meaning of Pain in the Heart?

Spiritual Meaning of Pain in the Heart

We tend to associate pain in the heart with heart attacks and other serious health emergencies, but pain, heaviness, or tightness in the heart or chest area has spiritual links.

It could be a sign that you need to open your eyes, or it might point you in the direction of an enemy.

Alternatively, you might need some extra support around you, on an emotional level.

What Emotion is Stored in the Chest?

Spiritual emotions

Different parts of the body are connected to different spiritual meanings. The head, for example, is a sign of stress. If you have aching feet, it could be the case that you are depressed.

Four emotions or feelings are closely linked with the chest, heart, and surrounding regions. These are:

  • Anxiety;
  • Fear;
  • Anger;
  • Love.

Less connected but still relevant emotions and feelings include excessive jealousy, no trust, and no ability to relate to other people

The heart and chest are linked to the Heart chakra, also known as Anahata – the fourth chakra.

There are seven in total, and when they are unaligned or out of balance for some reason, you can expect both life, spiritual, and physiological responses – such as pain in the heart and chest.

What Does Pain in the Heart Chakra Mean?

Heart chakra

Pain or discomfort in the heart or chest could be a sign that your Heart chakra is not balanced and aligned.

In life, you might notice that you feel disappointed or rejected more than usual, feel very depressed or down, putting on a ‘brave face,’ and embarrassment over your own feelings or the way your life is going.

Connecting the upper and lower body together, the Heart chakra is one of the most important, and is often considered to be the main or center part of the whole chakra system.

When it is perfectly harmonized and in balance, life will feel very happy and the complete opposite of when it is unaligned.

How Does it Feel When Your Heart Chakra is Opening?

One of the first things you will notice when your Heart chakra is open and balanced is a lack of chest or heart pain. (Providing it is not caused by another underlying medical condition, of course.)

You are also likely to feel lighter, less stressed, and much less depressed and unhappy.

Correcting or opening the Heart chakra will also result in the following:

  • Enhanced spirituality;
  • Spiritual awakening;
  • Increased knowledge and wisdom;
  • Inspiring joy around friends, relatives, and acquaintances;
  • Radiating warmth to those around you;
  • Boosted sincerity, compassion, and empathy;
  • An overall feeling of joy, happiness, and/or contentment.

Pain in Heart Spiritual Meaning: 7 Meanings

Pain in Heart Spiritual Meaning

If you are experiencing pain in the heart that doesn’t appear to be caused by something medical (or even with an underlying medical condition), it’s time for you to start considering the idea that the Universe or your angels are trying to send you a message.

If you pray to a God or deity, the message could also be from them, especially if you have recently asked for guidance or answers.

Here are the common pain in heart spiritual meanings and what to do about them:

1) Your Heart Chakra is Closed or Unaligned

You can open or rebalance your heart chakra in a number of ways, but it does take spiritual belief – and some self-belief, too.

Meditation, manifestation, positive affirmations, flowers, walks in nature, red items, and love letters to yourself are all great ways to achieve chakra alignment.

You can also use healing crystals, particularly tourmaline and rose quartz; and the color green, which is connected to earth and all-things natural.

2) The Drums of Spiritual Warfare

The heart of your body is also the heart of your spiritual self, and it’s the first thing that’ll drum when spiritual warfare is on the cards.

A pang of pain might indicate someone wishing harm to you.

Have you made a new enemy recently? Has an old grudge resurfaced?

3) Blocking Your Own Love Story

A blockage of the Heart chakra is very often a sign of a broken heart, which would indicate you’ve recently experienced some love life upheaval.

It can also be interpreted as a sign that you’re blocking your own heart, though – and by this, I mean, you’re standing in the way of your own happy-ever-after. (Or, you know, happy-for-now.)

It’s time to stop standing in your own way. Stop saying no; start saying yes

4) A Disruptive Situation

Heart pain, heaviness, or tightness can be a sign that there’s a disruption to your vibrational energies.

Something has sent the energy fields haywire… or someone. These situations can’t always be prevented, of course, but they can be managed.

If the disruptive situation doesn’t actually involve you or affect you, and especially if you can’t manage or control it, leave it.

You don’t have to be anywhere you don’t want to, and you certainly don’t need to suffer emotional distress and literal physical pain as a result of it.

5) Anxiety and Stress Overload

If your heart is giving you trouble, it’s time to take some chill time. If you keep going, overloading the heart and your emotions, it will eventually fail – and so will you

Doctors can prescribe medication, therapy can provide relief, and a change to your lifestyle can change your life.

You can’t keep living stressful situations and not facing no consequences. (Sorry.)

6) Trouble with Love, Friendships, and/or Collaborations

If you can feel the pain on the right side of your heart, you might be about to experience issues with professional, friend, or love ties, if you aren’t already.

This side of the heart is usually associated with people in your life.

The left-hand-side of the heart has pain when the issue is linked to emotional upset and stress, usually in a sense of detachment, loss, lacking, or distance

7) Overwhelming Feelings of Guilt

Guilt, regret, and disappointment are linked with chest and heart pain, which often points in the direction of not feeling good enough for someone or something.

At times, these feelings of guilt are due to a lack of self-love and self-belief.

Perhaps it’s time for you to turn that around?

How Do You Stop Emotional Heart Pain?

Woman meditating

To stop emotional heart pain, you must first get to the bottom of it.

You can do this with some self-reflection, meditation, and soul searching – but you must be honest with yourself. There is clearly an area of your life that’s causing you stress or emotional upsets.

Conclusion

Heart pain is a sure sign that you should see a western doctor before you do anything else.

Once the medical situation has been resolved and you’re not in any danger, you can then take the time to find out what’s causing it, spiritually.

I don’t want you to experience pain in the heart! It’s time for you to find out the cause, solve the issue at the root, and then live a healthy, happy life!
